David A. Jaeger, Professor of Economics, received his B.A. from Williams College and his Ph.D. from the University of Michigan.  He has held regular and visiting faculty positions at the University of Cologne, the University of Bonn, the College of William and Mary, Hunter College, and Princeton University.  Among other topics, his work on migration and immigration has examined the impact of immigration on natives’ wages, the determinants of immigrants’ location choices, the returns to the GED for immigrants, and the relationship between risk preferences and migration.   His work has been published in theAmerican Economic Review, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Labor Economics, the Journal of Public Economics, and the Journal of Population Economics, among others.    He was the first recipient of the Upjohn Institute Dissertation Prize in Labor Economics, was the recipient of a research fellowship from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, and was an invited lecturer at the IZA European Summer School in Labor Economics.  Professor Jaeger is a Faculty Associate of the CUNY Institute for Demographic Research (CIDR), a Research Fellow of the Centre for Research and Analysis of Migration (CReAM) at University College London, and a Research Associate in Labor Studies at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER).
