Elizabeth Miller

Elizabeth is a doctoral candidate in the CUNY Graduate Center’s Sociology program.  Her main interests revolve around immigration, immigrants’ work, and the issues of immigrant social and economic incorporation.  She is also interested in socioeconomic inequality, Latino studies, race and ethnicity, the construction of in-group/out-group boundaries, community and urban studies, and ethnographic and other qualitative methods.  Her dissertation focuses on the experience of immigrants who work in service jobs in Tribeca, a wealthy and largely white, native-born neighborhood in Lower Manhattan.
