Kay Deaux is a Distinguished Professor Emerita at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. She has a long history of research on issues of stereotypes, discrimination, and social identity, particularly in the areas of gender and immigration.  She has twice been a Fellow at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences (Palo Alto, CA) and has been a Visiting Scholar at the Russell Sage Foundation (New York City). She has served as President of several psychological organizations, including the Association for Psychological Science, the Society of Personality and Social Psychology, the Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues, and the Midwestern Psychological Association.  Currently she serves on the Advisory Committee for Cultural Contact and Immigration at the Russell Sage Foundation and is a Senior Editor on the Oxford Handbook Online Psychology Editorial Board.
