Janet Reilly

Janet Reilly is a PhD candidate in political science at the CUNY Graduate Center.  Her research interests include migration, human rights, citizenship, transnationalism, refugee protection and asylum, humanitarian relief, and international law. Janet’s dissertation examines the Liberian diaspora’s civic engagement in both the United States and in the process of post-conflict peacebuilding in Liberia, paying particular attention to the role of migration and state policies in influencing civic participation in each country.  She has served on the faculties of Sarah Lawrence College and Queens College, and has worked at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Turkey and Guinea, Save the Children Foundation in Ethiopia, and the Ralph Bunche Institute for International Studies.  AB in History, Duke University; MSt in Forced Migration, Oxford University; MPhil in Political Science, City University of New York Graduate Center.
